At Electronic Arts’ Gamescon conference today, DICE Studios has revealed that Battlefield 4 beta will be launching this October, and gave out details about Battlefield 4 Premium.
DICE has announced that Battlefield 4 beta will launch on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this October. The beta will feature the “Siege of Shanghai” map in Conquest mode. Also announced is Battlefield Premium, which gives users early access to new game modes, weapons, and expansion packs, along with new content updates every week. Users subscribed to Battlefield Premium will get the five DLC expansion packs slated for Battlefield 4 two weeks before they are made available to the public. The five packs are going to be called Second Assault, China Rising, Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand.
The Premium service also includes unique customization options, priority server queues and 12 bonus Battlepacks of extra content like camos, paints, dogtags, knives and XP boosts. Battlefield Premium will cost $50, and users can transfer the service from the Xbox 360 to Xbox One and from the PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4. DICE had already announced that Battlefield 4 will be released on November 1 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One titles set to follow sometime later.
