Bethesda announces new survival-horror game The Evil Within
Bethesda Softworks has recently announced a brand new survival-horror IP called The Evil Within with Tango Gameworks' Shinji Mikami–the renowned creator of the Resident Evil series–at the head of development.
Bethesda Softworks, the creators of the immensely popular Elder Scrolls franchise, has recently revealed The Evil Within, a brand new IP set in the survival-horror genre that's currently in the works.
The Evil Within is being developed by Tango Gameworks with the legendary Shinji Mikami–the creator of the Resident Evil franchise and proclaimed "father" of the survival-horror genre–directing Bethesda's Japanese studio in the overall development of the upcoming release.
Mikami has been in the industry for two decades now, and has been behind many critically acclaimed and award-winning titles in the genre itself, including the original Resident Evil game that solidified the genre in the gaming world.
“We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within,” Mikami disclosed in the game's official press release. “My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action.”
The game is slated for a release in 2014 for both next-gen and current gen consoles, including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
