We have seen Bill Gates on news about his Windows, his philanthropic efforts in 3rd world countries. Now there is something new – Investment in an alternative nuclear startup.

We have seen Bill Gates on news about his Windows, his philanthropic
efforts in 3rd world countries. Now there is something new – Investment
in an alternative nuclear startup.

News have filtered within Japanese media as mentioned by WSJ of a collaboration between Bill Gates and Toshiba. Talks are ongoing about working with this startup known as TerraPower.

Quoting WSJ,

Gates said the world
needs to get to zero carbon emissions by 2050. TerraPower is looking to
develop an alternative type of nuclear reactor that runs on natural or
depleted uranium, which would also be safer and less expensive than
enriched uranium.

Kudos to Bill Gates on his involvement to get the world to have zero carbon emissions although the community around the net might be making some jokes about it – No BSODs please.
