Internally, most client SSDs these days are built on single PCBs, which along with the components and connectors, aren't more than a few millimeters thick. For Biwin, it is virtually free to design the new casing option. The new 7 mm casing is made of sturdy anodized-aluminum. The casing is available for Biwin's Elite, Pro, Smart Series, NuvoDrive NX and NuvoDrive PX SSDs in the 2.5-inch form-factor, with SATA 3 Gb/s and 6 Gb/s interfaces.

Joe James, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Biwin America, said "Customers using 1U or 2U rack mount chassis want to pack more drives and more storage capacity into a smaller space. Biwin can now fit 48 2.5-inch 480 GB SSDs into a 2U server. Our 7 mm case enables greater storage density with no incremental cost."
