This afternoon, Atlas Sound & Vision, Singapore’s retailer and distributor for Bose, showcased the new Bose VideoWave entertainment system, a 46-inch Full HD LCD display with built-in home theatre sound speaker that can deliver cinematic sound without any need for separate speakers. You really have to see it to enjoy the overall audio/visual experience.
Alexander Healy, Technical Product Manager for Bose, APAC, gave an insight to the mechanics inside the 46-inch LCD monitor which include six high-performance woofers Bose waveguide technology, Bose PhaseGuide sound radiator technology combined with seven-element speaker array, as well as advanced Bose digital signal processing. The results is cinematic sound at places whereby you think the speakers are there, but are not.
Bose also introduced the click pad remote control which has a very simple button layout for the most commonly used functions like power, source select, channel switching, volume control, mute and return to previous. However, it also has a unique clickpad (below the power and source select) that allows you to navigate the controls easily for what is being watched with your thumb, and you can click on it to select.
Here’s an example on how the clickpad is being used. By placing the thumb on the clickpad, the onscreen controls will come up bordering the main screen. You can select play/pause by moving your thumb to the bottom (like above pic) and click on that spot without lifting the thumb.
