Brainwavz M1 & M2 IEM Review

Reported by on Sunday, September 5 2010 1:30 am

IEMs were originally used by musicians and true audiophiles, costing hundreds of dollars from big brands such as Shure, Westone, Ultimate Ears and so on. But in recent years, more lower-end IEMs for consumers started to emerge. Chinese IEM manufacturers also found their way into the hands of us consumers. We have two IEMs from Brainwavz - M1 and M2. How will they fare?

Yes, the two boxes are virtually identical. The only way to tell which is which, is from the sticker pasted on top of the shrink wrap. So to all those who are interested to get their hands on a set, please note that the M1 has a plastic body, while the M2 has a metallic body.

Besides the IEM units, they both come with a hard case, foam tips in three sizes, silicon tips in three sizes as well, shirt clip and a card with some simple warnings and instruction and warranty information.

To be honest, the packaging was not up to expectations, giving a 'cheap' feel. I'm only human but you know what they say? Never judge a book by its cover. Will these Brainwavz IEMs surprise us?
