Pegatron will commence shipments of the budget iPhone with plastic chassis and the next-generation retina iPad Mini in August.
DigiTimes reports that Pegatron will commence shipments of low-cost iPhone (with interchangeable, colored plastic chassis) as well as the next-generation retina moniker carrying iPad Mini 2 in August. Taiwan-based supply chain makers suggest that the components required to build the new iPhone and iPad Mini will start shipping in July.
Analysing the report, we come to the conclusion that Apple will unveil the next generation iPad Mini and the budget iPhone sometime in Q4 2014, most probably in October itself. Apple has yet to release the iPhone 5S, but the same report reveals something else that might interest you.
A next-generation iPhone and 9.7-inch iPad reportedly will appear in early 2014 and will be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry).
If this news is indeed true, there could only be a few possible explanations. One would be that the iPhone 5S is cancelled/delayed, the other being that the iPhone 6/iPhone phablet makes an appearance in early 2014.
