Cable to appear in High Moon’s Deadpool game as a central character

Cable joins the list of Marvel characters included within High Moon's upcoming Deadpool game, which is slated for a release sometime this year.

Deadpool has always been a popular fan-favorite within the realm of comics and has held a status akin to Star Wars' iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett for years. Finally, the deadly and quirky assassin will be making his way to the gaming world with his very own console game that's based on his action-packed adventures throughout the Marvel universe.

Deadpool is currently in development by High Moon Studios, and Activision has helmed the publication of the upcoming title, which was revealed at last year's San Diego Comic-Con where the assassin made a real-life appearance to announce the game.

Also, new information has revealed that iconic Marvel characters Cable and Domino will be making an appearance within the game as well, and Cable will be featured as a main character to balance Deadpool's insane tendencies with some good old-fashioned telepathic power.

Cable and Deadpool are old friends and have proven to be a formidable duo since their adventures in a fifty-issue series based in the Marvel universe. It will be quite interesting to see how the two complement one another in terms of combat and personality throughout the game.

A massive array of standalone adventures as well as the series mentioned above will provide a wealth of source material for High Moon to draw upon for the game, offering the chance to incorporate many different scenarios from the comics into the upcoming release.

High Moon studios is working hard on capturing the assassin's quirky and quite erratic behavior, as it is Deadpool's personality that accounts for much of his popularity. It will be interesting to see if his virtual form adequately matches his signature blend of humor, insanity and deadliness that is portrayed within the comics.

Deadpool is slated for a release date sometime in 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For more information like screenshots and videos or to pre-order the game, be sure to check out its official website, or stay connected with updates via Facebook & Twitter.
