This morning, Canon and SingTel jointly announced the Canon Cloud Advantage for the SMEs and growing enterprises. Read on to find out more.
Lim Kok Hin, vice president for Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon Singapore, talked about the company's five values – putting people first, form strategic alliances, Delighting You Always (also the company's slogan), add value proposition and build excellent group – and that Canon is reaching out to Singapore companies, let them know that technologies are very accessible and helping them improve productivity.
According to Alvin Kok, head of Infocomm Services, SingTel, the company has over 120,000 users that use SingTel's software-as-a-service (SaaS), and that the single easy-to-use platform allows users to choose what software and solutions they need over the Internet.
"Why is Canon going into Cloud Computing? The first thing is that we have the technology. Five years ago, our developers looked into the future and said we should equip all the ImageRunner Advance machines with cloud-enabled features. The second thing is we have the people. Multifunctional machines today are very intelligent with touchscreen interfaces and how you can set the buttons for shortcuts to send to your other departments. With cloud development, it is interesting how these buttons can connect to the cloud without the intermediate servers," said Von Chan, director and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions and Business Solutions Division, Canon Singapore.
At press time, 14 ImageRunner Advance business multi-function devices are all equipped with the Cloud features – 6055, 6065, 6075, C2020c, C2020H, C2025H, C2030H, C5030, C5035, C5045, C5051, C7055, C9065 PRO, C9075 PRO.
