Canon has announced their new EOS 650D for amateur photographers. The latest addition in the EOS range claims to be the world's first digital SLR camera with intuitive touch panel, and features continuous AF Servo and powerful DIGIC 5 imaging processor.
Equipped with an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor and the latest DIGIC 5 imaging processor, the new EOS 650D features a 3-inch 3:2 ratio Vari-angle ClearView LCD II capacitive touchscreen that lets you do the familiar touch gestures including swiping and pinching. The display also comes with anti-smudge coating and reduced reflective glare when taking pictures under bright conditions. The EOS 650D incorporates a host of improved functions and new creative imaging features such as wide ISO range from 100 to 12800 (expandable to 25600), Multi Shot Noise Reduction function whereby the camera can shoot four consecutive shots and automatically merge and align to compensate for noise while improving detail and definition. With the new Handheld Night Scene mode, photographers can capture dark scenes without using a tripod. Canon has also improved the EOS Scene Detection technology. Users can now apply the effects (Grainy/Black & White, Soft Focus, Toy Camera, Miniature, Art Bold,Water Painting, & Fish-eye) directly to their pictures without additional post-processing on the computer.
In addition to the EOS 650D, Canon has also announced the EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM and the EF40mm f/2.8 STM. The EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM features reduced chromatic aberration with the inclusion of one UD lens element and one PMo aspherical lens element. The EF40mm f/2.8 STM comes in an ultra-compact and lightweight design, with a fast f/2.8 aperture, 7-blade circular aperture and aspherical lens elements to achieve high image quality.
While the EOS 650D is announced today, you will not see the camera at this week's PC Show 2012 in Singapore.
