Capcom has announced Resident Evil 6, the latest instalment in the action horror franchise, which is set for release on multiple gaming platforms. Time to kill some zombies.

Capcom has announced Resident Evil 6, the latest instalment in the action horror franchise, which is set for release on multiple gaming platforms.

 
The game's storyline will focus on the threat of a bioterrorist attack on the President of the United States, who is due to give the people an address on the country's safety. This setting promises plenty of goosebumps and bloodshed, and some good old-fashioned zombie slaying.
 
As for the stars of the show, old favourites like Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield will be returning, along with several new faces with unique personalities.

The game will initially be released on the Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3 consoles, but there will also be a PC version some time later.
 
The Resident Evil series began in 1996 and has become one of the most successful brands in the industry, resulting in over 47 million games sold and $525 million made from the Hollywood adaptations staring Milla Jovovich.
 
Resident Evil 6 will be released on 20 November 2012.
