ZTE has unveiled the world's thinnest 5-inch full high-definition (FHD) smartphone, the Grand S, offering a powerful system under the hood and LTE connectivity.

ZTE has unveiled the world's thinnest 5-inch full high-definition (FHD) smartphone, the Grand S, offering a powerful system under the hood and LTE connectivity.

 
The Grand S is ZTE's first full high-definition smartphone, boasting a 5-inch 1080p display capable of showing off the entirety of a website, as well as a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with flash and a 2-megapixel front facing camera for video conferencing. The cameras also come with facial recognition, anti-shake, and a panoramic feature.
 
Powered by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, this smartphone can run Android Jelly Bean easily.

LTE internet offers download and upload speeds of up to 100Mb/s and 50Mb/s respectively. It is also one of the thinnest devices in the world, particularly for the size of its screen, at just 6.9mm.

We understand that today’s consumers call for advanced features and state-of-the-art multimedia options in their handsets, and the ZTE Grand S confidently addresses those demands,” said Mr. Kan Yulun, corporate VP of ZTE and CTO of the Mobile Device Division at ZTE. 
 
The Grand S is on display at ZTE's booth at CES 2013 and will be available for purchase online in China in the first quarter of this year, though there is no word on a worldwide release yet. ZTE said it plans to release many more high-end smartphones throughout the year.
