Chipset makers to roll out products supporting DDR2-800

Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS), VIA Technologies, Nvidia and ATI Technologies will introduce chipsets supporting DDR2-800 starting in the first half of 2006, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times.

SiS will release its SiS671 northbridge in the third quarter, with volume production to commence in the fourth quarter. It will also introduce the SiS672 northbridge in the first quarter of 2007 and the chipsets will be produced using 90nm technology from United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), the paper said.
