Both Conroe and Woodcrest are 65nm Merom derivatives and are
meant for desktop and workstation respectively. From the photos shown above, it
is clear that Conroe and Woodcrest are LGA775 based. It is known that Merom
sports 4MB of shared L2 cache and judging from the IDF slide diagram, it
seems that there will be two cache sizes for Conroe; 4 and 8MB while Woodcrest
has 8MB. All of them will have Intel Technologies such as VT, LT, AMT, EM64T and
Woodcrest has additional HT capability so it can run 4 threads simultaneously.
Merom will have 14 stage pipeline compared to 12 on the current Dothan, deeper
buffers, wider 4 issue core, improved data prefetch, memory disambiguation etc.
The TDP for Merom, Conroe and Woodcrest is 35W, 65W, 80W respectively.
