Cooler Master will unveil a wide range of new products at Computex in a few weeks' time and one up its upcoming cases has not only gone on sale, but it's already been leaked to a degree by Cooler Master Europe who's running a competition where you can win one of three Silencio 550 chassis. This is an entirely new product in Cooler Master's line-up of products and as far as we're aware the first low-noise case from the company.

We've managed to cobble together bits and pieces about the new case and it looks like Cooler Master has a good mid-range case here. The Silencio 550 is as mentioned Cooler Master's first attempt at a low-noise chassis and as such it's fitted with noise dampening foam. The case as a door covering the front drive bays and this, alongside both of the side plates are covered in the foam.

The overall chassis design looks a fair bit like the good old Antec P183, although the similarities are only skin deep. The Silencio 550 sports three 5.25in drive bays, seven 3.5in drive bays and one 2.5in drive bay. Judging by the internal picture, four of the 3.5in drive bays can be removed to make space for extra-long graphics cards. At the rear we're looking at a standard seven expansion slots.

To allow for some airflow the door has cut-outs in the sides which allows for air to be pulled in while the foam still helps to keep the noise level down. Cooler Master has fitted a pair of 120mm 800rpm low noise fans and there's space for a third fan. The PSU is bottom mounted and there's a large cut-out on the motherboard tray for easy access to the rear of the CPU cooler. There doesn't seem to be too many options for putting cables behind the motherboard tray, at least not judging by the pictures we've managed to dig up.

The front ports consist of a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a pair of audio jacks and surprisingly an SD card reader. One of the external drive bays have been taken up by an X-dock hard drive hot-swap caddy which is yet another nice addition as far as features are concerned. Overall this looks like a pretty sweet case and we found it for sale in the UK for £72.98 (S$148) which seems like a pretty decent price as well.  Oh and if you live in Europe and want a chance to win one, hit the link below.
