So far Corsair has only offered fairly small sized SSDs in its high-performance Force GT series of SSDs, but now the company has added a pair of new, roomier models to the series. The new capacities are 180 and 240GB, a doubling of the two previously largest models.

These SandForce SF-2280 driven SSDs have also gained a small performance increase on the write side, with both models offering write speeds of up to 525MB/s, up from 515MB/s for the 120GB drive. A small increase perhaps and the sequential write speed is still stuck at 555MB/s. As with the previous models, Corsair is bundling both drives with a 3.5-inch adapter.

We're expecting one of the new models for testing and although neither comes in cheap, we'd expect Corsair to be competing for a top spot in terms of raw SSD performance with these models. As for pricing, the 180GB model has an MSRP of US$379 (S$459) while the 240GB model comes in at US$489 (S$590), which is pretty much in line with other SSDs based on the latest generation of SandForce controllers.
