The new Performance 3 line of SSDs would be able to take advantage of SATA III 6Gbps sata ports which is included natively on Intel’s Sandy Bridge Platform and AMD’s 8xx chipsets. There will also be full support for TRIM on Windows including background garbage collection.
Corsair’s Performance 3 SSDs will come in three models. The 64GB model will offer read and write speeds of up to 365MB/s and 110MB/s respectively. The 128GB version will support up to 410MB/s in write speed and 210MB/s in read speed. Lastly, the 256GB variant will provide read speeds up to 480MB/s and write speeds up to 320MB/s.
Currently, the only SSD in the market that supports Sata III 6Gbps is the Crucial RealSSD C300. This could change with upcoming SSDs built on the SF-2000 controller expected to arrive in Q2 2011 and this line of SSDs from Corsair.
The Performance line 3 SSDs is expected to arrive by the end of January 2011.
