Just as AMD launched the AMD Athlon 64 FX processors a couple of days ago, Corsair has come up with a new family of registered PC3200 modules designed specially for them.

Fremont, CA, September 23, 2003 – Corsair Memory, Inc., a global leader in ultra-performance DDR memory modules for PC gamers and enthusiasts, today announced a new family of registered PC3200 modules designed for AMD Athlon 64 FX processors.

Corsair, already an established leader in both registered memory for the server market and extreme performance unbuffered modules for enthusiasts, announced two new registered PC3200 matched module pairs that are fully compatible with the Athlon 64 FX. These parts have been rigorously tested in Corsair’s Compatibility Labs and are 100% compatible with Athlon 64 FX CPUs. They are available today through Corsair resellers worldwide:

  • TwinX1024R-3200C2 – matched pair of 512MB, registered DDR400, CAS2 modules
  • TwinX1024RE-3200LL – matched pair of 512MB, registered DDR400, low-latency modules with ECC

TwinX matched pairs are tested together as a pair in a dual channel DDR motherboard, then packaged as a pair immediately after test to ensure reliability in the dual channel environment. And both these parts are tested and certified to operate at extremely aggressive latency settings to offer optimum performance. TwinX1024RE-3200LL features Corsair’s Plug-n-Frag SPD so the modules boot at advanced 2-3-2-6 latency timings with no tweaking. The TwinX1024R-3200C2 boots up at JEDEC standard latency values, and is tested and verified to operate at aggressive 2-3-3-7 settings. As part of the popular XMS family, all new parts come clad in black or platinum (PT) heatspreaders for more efficient heat dissipation.

“We leveraged our expertise in two areas to produce these new products”, said Corsair Marketing Director Joe James. “Corsair is the master of extreme performance desktop modules and is a leader in registered server memory. We combined speed and reliability to deliver these extreme performance parts for the Athlon 64 FX.”
