Corsair surprised us recently with the launch of their new high end drives, the Neutron series, which were based on a Link-A-Media controller, a Japanese company without any history in the SSD market. Today we will see what kind of fruits this partnership brought about as we will be reviewing the current flagship SSD from Corsair, the Neutron GTX 480GB drive.

 Corsair Neutron GTX 480GB SSD Review

The Corsair Neutron GTX 480GB is based on a Link_A_Media (LAMD) LM87800 controller, not any different than the "Vanilla" Neutron SSD which we had the chance to test a few weeks back. However, certain improvements allow the GTX version to achieve considerably higher speeds, making it (on paper) the fastest SSD which Corsair currently produces. We will soon find out just how much faster the GTX version is and how well it compares against some competition.
