Creative today launched a new model of their Zen portable media players, the Zen Vision: M just in time for this Christmas season. Zen Vision: M looks much closer to Apple iPod Video than ever before and Creative claims this player has much longer battery life and more cool features than its competitors.
Creative Technology today launched a new model of their Zen portable media
players, the Zen Vision: M just in time for this Christmas season. Zen Vision: M
echoes the success of their Zen Vision player launched back in August with
similar features but only smaller in size.
This player is available now in 4 colors; Black, White, Green, Pink & Blue
and will be selling for S$ 598 (US$ 349). Only US will have all the colors
available while in Singapore or other countries, just the Black, White and
Zen Vision: M looks much closer to Apple iPod Video than ever
before and Creative claims this player has much longer battery life and more
cool features than its competitors. Creative Zen Vision: M has 262K of colours
compared to 65K of the iPOD Video and its video size output resolution is
640×480 compared to 320×240. Its video playtime of 4hrs is doubled of the iPOD
video and supports more video codecs such as WMV9, MPEG1/2/4-SP, Motion-JPEG,
DivX/XVid where iPOD Video only supports MPEG4, H.264 and MOV. Of course, iPOD
Video is slightly cheaper at S$ 548 but without power adapter and FM recorder
where users have to purchase separately. However, iPod Video certainly wins in
Zen Vision: M is packed with features such as 30GB of storage
space on 1.8″ hard drive, 2.5″ 640×480, 262,144 screen, 97dB SNR audio playback
quality, photo-Zoom function, FM
radio and recorder, customisable shortcuts buttons, support WMV9, MPEG1/2/4-SP,
Motion-JPEG, DivX/XVid formats. This player has up to 14 hours of continuous
audio playback and 4 straight hours of video playback so users can enjoy long
movies like Lord of The Ring or Titanic without a need for a battery charge.
Creative has also revealed their next i-Trigue 200 speakers to
go with the new Zen Vision: M player but will only be available in January.
