Creative Technology today launched a new model of their Zen portable media
players, the Zen Vision: M just in time for this Christmas season. Zen Vision: M
echoes the success of their Zen Vision player launched back in August with
similar features but only smaller in size.

This player is available now in 4 colors; Black, White, Green, Pink & Blue
and will be selling for S$ 598 (US$ 349). Only US will have all the colors
available while in Singapore or other countries, just the Black, White and
Green.

Zen Vision: M looks much closer to Apple iPod Video than ever
before and Creative claims this player has much longer battery life and more
cool features than its competitors. Creative Zen Vision: M has 262K of colours
compared to 65K of the iPOD Video and its video size output resolution is
640×480 compared to 320×240. Its video playtime of 4hrs is doubled of the iPOD
video and supports more video codecs such as WMV9, MPEG1/2/4-SP, Motion-JPEG,
DivX/XVid where iPOD Video only supports MPEG4, H.264 and MOV. Of course, iPOD
Video is slightly cheaper at S$ 548 but without power adapter and FM recorder
where users have to purchase separately. However, iPod Video certainly wins in
sleekness still.

Zen Vision: M is packed with features such as 30GB of storage
space on 1.8″ hard drive, 2.5″ 640×480, 262,144 screen, 97dB SNR audio playback
quality, photo-Zoom function, FM
radio and recorder, customisable shortcuts buttons, support WMV9, MPEG1/2/4-SP,
Motion-JPEG, DivX/XVid formats. This player has up to 14 hours of continuous
audio playback and 4 straight hours of video playback so users can enjoy long
movies like Lord of The Ring or Titanic without a need for a battery charge.

Creative has also revealed their next i-Trigue 200 speakers to
go with the new Zen Vision: M player but will only be available in January.

Creative Zen Vision: M certainly looks cool together with
Shuttle SD11G5!
