It seems the suitation is much better now with the new CryEngine 3 that seems more robust and support multi-platforms. You have about a month time to upgrade your dated PCs to play Crysis 2 comfortably before it hits the retail on March 22nd.  A two year old system is recomended for this game but a recent system is highly recommended if you wish to have a better frame rates at higher resolution. However, there isn't really a need to get the upcoming flagship cards from NVIDIA and AMD (GeForce GTX 590 or Radeon HD 6990) just to play this game unless, you are looking to benchmark this game since the demo and full version will contain a timedemo.
