Dead or Alive 5 director justifies player ability to manually jiggle character’s breasts
There is a battle (again) starting up about teenagers, video gaming, and all the blood-curdling violence in them, because we all know that it is making our young kids turn into mindless killing machine. So one can only imagine the uproar that will ensue if, and when, the Dead or Alive 5 game makes it onto the shores of puritanical United States.
Right now there is a lot of attention resurfacing about the violence in video games and its (still unsubstantiated) detrimental effect on young children. However, this is just one of the many accusations being leveled against video games, with one of the others being the sexual objectification of women in games—which means this news is definitely going to set off someone's outrage meter.
Team Ninja’s recently released 1.03A patch for Dead or Alive 5 isn’t really news, but what is news is that by shaking the DualShock controller you can move a female characters' breast around.
According to game director Yohei Shimbori:
"[There is] still room for having sexualized aspects…If you have a solid fighting game system there, there's nothing wrong with having beautiful characters as a layer on top of that – that's another layer of entertainment that there's a need for. If there wasn't a need for it, people wouldn't have responded to the alpha demo like they did, and send us feedback."
Needless to say, more than a few video showing off this … um …. feature have begun to surface.
Dead or Alive is slated for release in the US on March 19th but there is no word if this release will include this new feature.
