Dell Adamo inspired? Introducing the Dell Vostro V13
If you took a quick glance, you might mistake the Vostro V13 for the Adamo 13. Taking some design cues from the Adamo 13, the Vostro V13 is clad in brushed aluminium, with reinforced zinc hinges for rough handling.
Interestingly, Dell puts the starting price tag on this one at just US$449. More information after the break.
The V13, like the entire Vostro line, is backed by dedicated and specially trained small-business sales and support experts, comes with a 30-day worry-free return policy, and features a suite of customizable service and support solutions designed specifically for small business.
With a thickness of just 1.65cm and a starting weight of 1.59kg, the Vostro V13 is targeted at frequent travellers, as well as those who would like a conveninently-sized ultra-portable laptop that could slide into their bags with ease.
Equipped with Intel’s Ultra Low Voltage processors and a built-in 6-cell battery, the Dell Vostro V13 offers both excellent computing power, and battery life. DDR3 memory is standard on this machine, and can be expanded to a maximum of 4GB. Connectivity isn’t an issue with the V13 too, as it packs Bluetooth, Wireless, and even 3G WWAN options.
Its display is a 13.3″ LED-backlit (1366 x 768) widescreen, and driven by the integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD.
For business users, reliability is a very important factor. The Vostro V13 has a free-fall sensor in place to detect accidental drops – the sensor parks the hard drive head to prevent loss of data due to impact. Furthermore, with an aluminium case and zinc hinges, the chassis is built to last.
Dell believes in offering a premium ultra-light laptop experience with the sleek and stunning Vostro V13, but without the premium price tag. Pricing for the Singapore market is not known yet, but prices will start from US$449 in the US. Yes, you read that right, just US$449.
