A resident in Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.) has purchased 88 acres of land where a full scale Millennium Falcon model will be constructed.  The projected is being put together by fans from all over the world.

Star Wars fan take note, a full scale replica of the Millennium Falcon is being built just west of Nashville, Tennessee and you an be a part of it.

For those of us who can’t get enough of the Star Wars franchise and the numerous fan clubs that have spun off of it, there is now an even bigger idea being put together.  A Nashville man has started a project where fans and fabricators of Star Wars props can contribute to building a full size replica of the Millennium Falcon.

The project, which is the brainchild of Chris Lee of Nashville, Tennessee, has purchased 88 acres of land just west of the city where the full-scale model will be constructed.  While all of the work on the project will be very expensive, all of the work and money will come from volunteers and donations.

Once the ship is completed it will be about 114 feet in length and docking ring to docking right (beam) of 81 and one half feet.  The height of the ship to the dish will be over 30 feet and a height to the top body itself will be approximately 25 feet.

The project builders say that while they appreciate any donations to the project, and in keeping with any copyright laws with Lucas Films and the Walt Disney Company there will be no charge to see it once it is completed. The builders also say that due to the intellectual property rights to Lucas Films, they will not be publicly soliciting funds through any 3rd party fundraising entity or on-line site like IndieGoGo or Kickstarter to help pay for the construction.

To learn more about the project you can visit the full-scale Millennium Falcon project here.  The site also has a forum for those wanting to talk about the project and a page where you can make donations for the project.
