Dual SIM HTC One launched in India, comes with a microSD slot

Dual SIM phones are common in both China and India, but the latter doesn’t usually get dual SIM variants of flagship phones. That’s changing with the HTC One though, as its dual SIM variant has been quietly launched in India.

Available from retailer Flipkart with a delivery time of 7-8 days, the dual SIM HTC One supports GSM and CDMA networks on the first slot and only GSM on the second, with the second slot also limited to 2G networks. As a result of multiple SIM slots, the back cover is removable unlike the single SIM variant, though the battery remains non-removable like before.

The removable back cover presents another advantage that is also available on the Chinese variant – users now have access to a microSD slot, the lack of which is one of the reasons many opt for Samsung’s Galaxy S4. Up to 64GB cards are supported, which means you’ll effectively have up to 96GB of storage at your disposal, which should make media buffs happy and let them put those BoomSound stereo speakers and Beats Audio integration to full effect.

The rest of the specs remain the same as the single SIM HTC One. You get a stunning 4.7-inch 1080p Super LCD3 display, beastly processing power with a Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB of RAM, great low-light photos with the 4-megapixel UltraPixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2,300mAh battery, and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 features like Zoe and BlinkFeed.

Unfortunately, the price tag is a bit steep at Rs. 48,490, a result of the addition of that extra SIM and microSD slot. Hit the source link if you’re interested in buying the dual SIM HTC One, though it would be a good idea to wait for a few weeks to let the price settle down to a more sensible level.
