The Xbox One will be available in India in September for around $672.
Microsoft has announced during the E3 conference that the Xbox One will be coming to India on September 23, 2014 starting at $672 (INR 39,990). The version of the console with the Kinect sensor will be available for around $770 (INR 45,990).
Microsoft has been struggling in terms of sales when compared to Sony’s PlayStation 4, and as such a push to bring the console to more markets would be a welcome move, in addition to launching a Kinect-less version of the Xbox One that is available for the same price as the PlayStation 4 at $399 in the US.
The Xbox One will feature a set of exclusive titles that are slated for a launch later this year, like Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which includes the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta, and Forza Horizon 2.
The Indian launch of the Xbox One comes eight months after Sony launched the PlayStation 4 in India. Although not as strong as other countries, the next-gen console has seen relatively decent sales, considering the console market is a niche segment in the country.
