ECS, being one of the big names in the motherboard and notebook industry,
has always been a name related to innovation. ECS has sent us a Hybrid
product, the ECS PF88 Extreme Hybrid.
Like what it’s name suggests, this board is really a hybrid board, with the
combination of both AMD and Intel, together onto a single platform. Like all
other “Extreme” family of products, this board is targeted towards the fickle-minded enthusiast. To be more exact, the ECS PF88 is an unified
platform, with the capability of adding different SIMA expansion cards,
effectively transforming from one platform to another. ECS had also sent us the
SIMA A9S platform converter card, allowing the support of an AMD Athlon 64 939
pin based processor, to be used on this native Intel LGA 775 platform.
