(Eizo Japan) Eizo has announces 2 new monitors in its FlexScan lineup that will feature a sensor to detect if someone is in front of the monitor, effectively switching between power saving mode when there is nothing in front of the monitor.

The monitors are available in 20 and 23 inch models and will be retailing on 21 May. The 20 inch model will have a native 1600x900 resolution while the 23 inch has a 1920x1080 native resolution. Both models will support the typical D-sub (VGA) and also DVI-D inputs and is HDCP capable.

There are significant differences between these 2 monitors though, one of which is the panel used. The 20 inch sports a VA panel and a response rate of 25ms while the 23 inch model uses a TN panel, hence a speedier response of 5ms.

Pricewise, hefty. The 20 and 23 inch FlexScan monitors will retail at a price of 35,800 and 37,800 yen respectively
