What better way to advertise the coming release of the Elder Scrolls Online than free food? Bethesda's incoming MMO game has posted their tour schedule, and will be hitting the roads of the USA starting this March.
The Elder Scrolls Online team has been pulling no punches when it comes to advertisement – if you haven't seen a commercial or banner for the upcoming MMO, then you haven't been on the internet recently. Now ESO has announced that they'll be touring the US with the best form of advertisement available: food.
This March, the Elder Scrolls Online Food Truck Tour begins – headed for the warm weather of Austin, Texas, the truck will make its way across the country, giving out prizes, swag, and, of course, free food. The truck will hit such key events and locations as “PAX, E3, San Diego Comic-Con, and fine universities like UCLA and UMASS.” They'll only be making it to 11 stops, so you might want to plan ahead if you want to meet them.
“If you happen to be in the states, meet us at one of 11 stops for free food, giveaways, and more!” says the ESO team. “If you can’t make it, keep an eye on our website as we'll announce our plans for the European conventions soon.”
Sound like an unusual way to advertise? The food truck was modeled after their last food-based venture for the release of Skyrim. The menu for their previous truck included “Dragon Leg” turkey legs, “Whiterun Corn”, and the much-coveted “Solitude Sweetroll”. Elder Scrolls Online clearly knows that the way to a gamer's heart is through their stomach.
