Epic VP says next consoles are not “a generation ahead of PC”
Epic Vice President, Mark Rein has informed fanboys, PR personnel and developers of the limitations in the graphical and technical prowess of upcoming consoles.
Mark Rein is a veteran in the games industry; he's seen some things man. Rein recently took to Twitter to send this tweet, after possibly hearing everyone in the world go on and on about how great the specs were for the recently announced, Xbox One.

The Epic Vice President was actually reacting to comments made by EA Chief Technology Officer Rajat Teneja, and a recent Develop Online article which claimed the consoles to be ahead of the curve in terms of PC and recent developments in hardware. Rajat said earlier this week when discussing the technology behind the Xbox One, "These architectures are a generation ahead of the highest end PCs on the market and their unique design of the hardware, the underlying operating system and the live service layer create one of the most compelling platforms to reimagine game mechanic." This was the BS that Rein was calling out.
Rein has, however, noted that while the consoles are not superior he is excited for games such as Gran Turismo 6, Forza 5 and the Remedy title Quantum Break. Rein isn't trying to be a party pooper at the great festival that is the ever-changing console war; he's just making a point about how you shouldn't be fooled by the specs and the glitz and the glamour of the tech demos we're bound to see in the next month at E3. Oh, Mark is also excited about E3.
The E3 Microsoft and Sony press conferences are only two weeks from today! Time to start getting excited about E3!
