ESET launches NOD32 Antivirus 5 and Smart Security 5

This morning, IT security company ESET has announced the launch of their latest Smart Security 5 and NOD32 Antivirus 5 in Asia Pacific, including Singapore. Both products offer new and improved features including ESET Live Grid, a cloud-based reputation and protection technology' removable Media Control with granualar control of external devices; as well as Gamer Mode.

ESET has launched their new Smart Security 5 and NOD32 Antivirus 5 which claim to offer advanced detection technology and multi-layered security features for the home users. The ESET Smart Security 5 offers various new features including Live Grid (Cloud-powered Reputation) that can deliver optimized real-time protection against internet threats and social media exploits; Parental Control that can protect children from potentially offensive web content by blocking various website categories; and Advanced HIPS Functionality for users who want to customize the behavior of the system in detail like specifying rules for the system registry, active processes and programs. The ESET NOD32 Antivirus 5 also comes with features like its Smart Security 5 sibling, as well as Gamer Mode that lets user focus on their online sessions or important work tasks; Enhanced Media Control that can automatically scan all USB flash drives, memory cards and CDs/DVDs; and Smart Detection that can detect malware using advanced heuristic detection technology to protect against unknown threats.
