Facebook iOS app update brings new privacy features and emoticons

Facebook today updated its app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The update brings a host of new privacy features as well as new status icons, while bumping the version number up to 6.2.

Facebook recently made quite a few updates to its web version, these updates were particularly related to privacy features. The same has now been brought over to the social network’s iOS app. Users are now able to change privacy settings of a status update, link or picture after they have posted it on their timeline by simply tapping on the drop-down arrow that sits right beside the post itself. Users now also have the ability to change privacy settings for older posts.

The latest Facebook for iOS update also brings the ability to select status icons and emoticons as part of a status update. These emoticons are selected once the user has finished writing the status update, they’re added to reflect the user’s mood at that point in time. Emoticons are also able to reflect what a user is reading, watching or doing, thus providing their friends greater insight. Last but not the least, this app update also comes with crucial bug fixes.

Download the new Facebook for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch from iTunes App Store.
