Finally, China Gets Apple iPads

After a long wait, the Apple iPad tablet is finally here in China and hundreds of people have queued up to be the early birds at getting their official iPads today. The iPad will also be selling at Apple stores in Beijing and Shanghai as well as authorised retailers around the country.

Finally, China Gets Apple iPads

The people in China can rejoice and also buy an Apple iPad, as the tablet is finally made available in the country. It has been a long wait for the Chinese as the iPad was released in US on 3 April and sold more than three million units in the first 80 days.

According to news sources, Han Ziwen, 35, had camped out for 60 hours at the Beijing store to ensure he was first in line when the flagship outlet's doors opened at 8:00 am this morning. In Shanghai, more than 200 people queued outside the underground Apple store which opened in July.

The 16GB, Wi-Fi version of the iPad costs 3,988 yuan, the 32GB model sells for 4,788 yuan, while the 64GB version is priced at 5,588 yuan. However, there's no news from Apple as to when the 3G version of the iPad will go on sale in China.
