Hot on the heels of the Rampage III Extreme and Rampage III GENE, the Republic Of Gamers (ROG) team has a new option for Intel X58 (supporting Intel Socket 1366 processors) performance seekers – the brand new Rampage III Formula motherboard, which comes with all the bells and whistles you expect from a top notch gaming and overclocking board.
The Formula series is known for delivering a balance of gaming-related features at a superior value. First, you have an Intel X58 Express chipset sitting on this board. This means you get to use the fastest series of processors in the market – the Intel Core i7 series, including the Core i7-980X Extreme Edition. Then, there is the GameFirst bandwidth mutlitasker which we have seen in previous ASUS boards. It enables users to download stuff in the background while preventing latency related issues during online gaming sessions due to poor bandwidth management.
The Rampage III Formula also ships with Intel Ethernet hardware acceleration. Network-related calculations are offloaded from the processor directly to the Intel LAN solution. This enables both the network connection and your tasks (such as gaming) to perform smoothly.
