Based on the latest Foxconn roadmap we have seen, there is a C557AA board slated for sampling in Q1 that is based on the NVIDIA C55 chipset with MCP55. We have not heard of C55 before so it could be the next chipset for Intel Pentium XE and D processors after NVIDIA has canceled their C60 development. By pairing the C55 and MCP55 up, there will be enough PCIe lanes for full Dual PCIe x16 support. According to current info, MCP55 itself has a Gigabit PHY and 28 PCIe lanes therefore if C55 has 20 so the total will be 48. It is interesting to note that ATi RD580 chipset has 44 PCIe lanes. This board will support LGA775 Presler and even the upcoming Conroe processors on 1066MHz FSB. The expected mass production of the C557AA board is slated for Q2 this year.
