Foxconn: Suicide Compensation Axed, Relocation Announced

Terry Gou, Foxconn company founder have announced that the compensation
for suicides to be axed due to pressing evidence that workers
might have committed suicide to get compensation payment for their family.
In one of the
suicide notes mentioned:
“I am going to jump off Foxconn now, please
don’t be sad because Foxconn will pay some money”
The recent spate of suicides rose controversy on the welfare of its employees among the community and Foxconn have raised its basic wages for them. The wage increase will take effect from October 1, which some of them who qualify can receive up to 2000 yuan a month
Foxconn will also be looking into relocating some of its manufacturing to Taiwan or Vietnam and turning it to a automated unmanned process on the production line.
