Foxconn to roll out two “Nano PC” fanless barebone units

Details of a couple new all passively-cooled "Nano PCs" from Foxconn have emerged with an announcement soon to follow. The two new models include the AT-5300 which is powered by Intel's Atom D2700 processor, and an AMD E-450 "Brazos" APU powered variant in the AT-5600.

Details of a couple new all passively-cooled "Nano PCs" from Foxconn have emerged with an announcement soon to follow. The two new models include the AT-5300 which is powered by Intel's Atom D2700 processor, and an AMD E-450 "Brazos" APU powered variant in the AT-5600.

The sub US $200 price points for both the AT-5300 and AT-5600 sound appealing, but it must be made known that they are barebones machines requiring DDR3 SO-DIMM module(s) to be added (taking up to 4GB) and a 2.5-inch HDD/SSD.

Measurements of these little units come in at 190 x 135 x 38 mm with a weight of about 600g. Connectivity is respectable with a couple USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, an SD/SDHC/MS/MS Pro/MMC card reader, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Gigabit LAN, HDMI and D-Sub.

Certainly, one of the major highlights is the totally fanless nature of these little units, while consuming no more than 24W of power at full load.

As mentioned, an official announcement is on the way soon from Foxconn on its new Nano PC line and they are expected to be made available worldwide soon after.
