Fuse demo drops May 7th via PSN and Xbox LIVE
A demo for Insomniac's newest action-infused co-op title is coming next week, allowing gamers to experience the surprisingly innovative title before it releases later this month.
Fuse has been in development by Insomniac Games–the indie devs behind such PlayStation franchises as Spyro, Ratchet & Clank, and Resistance–since it was announced in 2010, with many re-iterations, tweaks and alterations being applied along the way.
After three long years of development, Insomniac has added the finishing touches to its innovative action-packed tech-filled IP, readying it for its official multiplatform launch later this month.
The four main characters that comprise Insomniac's new IP, each with their own distinct visual styles and in-game traits.
Before Fuse hits shelves, though, gamers will get the opportunity to try out the game via a downloadable demo, affording players with the chance to weigh the pros and cons of the game itself.
The demo is scheduled to release on next Tuesday on May 7th via Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network, yet it's unknown if the demo will feature the game's signature four-player co-op–which is one of the major features of the release apart from the sci-fi themes.
Fuse utilizes third-person shooter combat schemes that are akin to mechanics found in games like the Mass Effect series, putting an emphasis on action-packed battles.
Fuse takes players in a dynamic sci-fi world full of technology and weapons, blending third-person shoot-and-cover action with what appears to be a mix of Borderlands that's laden with sci-fantasy visuals. All in all the game looks pretty impressive and may in fact feature some light RPG mechanics to boot, as it's been revealed that each of the four characters has their own distinct in-game abilities.
EA has also released a brand new trailer (see below) for Insomniac's new IP that takes a look at dynamic in-game footage, revealing some of Fuse's mechanics in real time.
Fuse is scheduled to hit retail shelves on May 28, 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with the demo coming next Tuesday on May 7th.
