G.Skill RipjawsX 1600MHz CL7 4GB DDR3 Kit Review

As the RipjawsX series is designed for the Intel P67 Express platform, we will be using an Intel 'Sandy Bridge' setup. However, to explore maximum memory frequency, we have decided to use the older Intel P55 Express platform for that. Hence, two configurations were used to test the F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM kit.

Our test setup consisted of the following components:

  • Intel Core i5-2500K Processor
  • ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 (Intel P67 Express)
  • G.Skill RipjawsX F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM
  • Intel Core i7-860 Processor
  • ASUS P7P55D-E EVO (Intel P55 Express)
  • Palit GeForce GTX 580 1536MB
  • Western Digital Raptor 74GB
  • Cooler Master Silent Pro M1000
  • Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
