Brace yourselves Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 users, Gameloft is preparing to bring no less than 15 of its gaming titles to your favourite platforms, including the hotly anticipated Asphalt 8: Airborne.

Gameloft is one of the few big-name developers that have shown commitment to Microsoft’s mobile Windows OS, and now that support will be extending to the desktop version of the OS as well, along with support for Xbox Live and cross-platform multiplayer.

The developer has currently confirmed seven of the 15 titles, including Asphalt 8: Airborne (which comes out on iOS and Android tomorrow, and can be seen running on Windows 8 tablet here), Despicable Me: Minion Rush, Dungeon Hunter 4, Total Conquest, Six Guns, Kingdoms & Lords and UNO & Friends (already available on the Windows Store), all of which will hit both Windows Phone and Windows 8 by the end of this year, with the rest eight titles arriving in 2014.

Gameloft might not be the most original developer around, often lifting plots and settings directly from console and PC games, but they still make some of the best mobile games out there, so it looks like users of Microsoft’s mobile and desktop OS are in for a great time ahead. Now, if only Gameloft can figure out a way to launch games on Windows at the same time as iOS and Android, that would be great.
