Asphalt 8, the latest title in Gameloft’s extremely popular mobile racing games series, is now available on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.
Gameloft announced the game for Windows 8 and WP8 back in August – it has been available on iOS and Android since September, and now Windows users can finally join in on the fun as well. The game costs $0.99 on WP8 and $2.99 on Windows 8, though like the iOS and Android versions, Gameloft will probably make it free-to-play in the near future via an update.
Asphalt 8, like previous games in the series, isn’t the most realistic driving game you’ll play – cars drift and fly off ramps with surprising ease, knocking down opponent cars is as simple as simply nudging them with your own at high speeds, and nitrous boosts are as readily available as fish in the ocean. However, when it comes to having fun, Asphalt 8 delivers, with around 50 high-performance cars, diverse locations, and a slew of single and multiplayer events, along with beautiful graphics that set it apart from other racing games available on mobile devices today.
