Garena officially launches League of Legends, on Friday the 13th

  Despite today being the "unlucky" Friday the 13th, Garena isn't superstitious at all. The online game publisher has officially announced their massive multiplayer online game, League of Legends, which is now available to gamers in Singapore and Malaysia.

Garena today announced the commercial launch of League of Legends for Garena users in Singapore and Malaysia. League of Legends is the award-winning free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game that has had the international gaming community buzzing with talk on the game’s exciting and compelling competitive play.

With the commercial launch, Garena has beefed up its online store to enable League of Legends players in Singapore and Malaysia to use Garena Shells to acquire content in the game. Players can choose from over 70 unique champions and in excess of 200 champion skins, as well as pick up boosts and rune pages to further enhance their gaming experience. Garena Shells prepaid cards can be purchased from 7-Eleven, Comic Connections and cyber cafes in Singapore. Garena Shells can also be purchased via popular online payment service providers such as PayPal and Money Online, or through SingTel via SMS.

League of Legends offers players over 70 brand new champions with unique abilities and play styles, as well as multiple maps such as Summoners’ Rift and Twisted Treeline. The game features an advanced matchmaking system that ensures players are paired up with others with similar ability levels. In the coming months, gamers playing on Garena’s platform can look forward to frequent updates which will incorporate new features, champions, maps and game modes.
