Garmin ASUS M10

Today, Garmin-ASUS has announced their new M10 which claims to be the world’s first Smart3 phone – Smart phone, Smart navigation and Smart lifestyle. The Windows Mobile smartphone is expected to be available in Singapore in late March (which isn’t too far away).

Benson Lin, Vice President and General Manager of ASUS handheld Business Group, was at the event to introduce their new M10 smartphone.

“Since the M10 was launched last month in Taiwan, we already sold 10,000 units in 40 days. The Taiwanese press also wrote that the M10 is the best navigation smartphone device.”

Lin says his expectations in Singapore is to be the number one choice in the Windows Mobile platform as well as number one in smartphone brand in the navigation category.

The M10 is equipped with the latest Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system and sports a 3.5-inch WVGA full touch display. You can have a dual navigation screen as well as access 2D City Maps, text to speech and even junction view information easily.

Besides navigation, you can also access the various applications including camera, media gallery and currency converter via the familiar Windows Mobile menu. The touchscreen is the resistive type and is quite sensitive to use. You can either rely on your finger or the stylus provided by Garmin-ASUS.

The Garmin-ASUS M10 will be retailing on 27th March at a retail price of S$638 (w/GST) from M1 and Starhub and authorized retailers. With two-year telco contract, the price is approximately S$298.
