Genius SP-U150X Yellow

Peripherals major Genuis rolled a new line of cute-looking USB stereo speakers for PCs and Macs, particularly notebooks. The SP-U150X as it's called, comes in three variants based on the color of a ring around its dome – black, yellow, and green. The speakers feature 2-inch drivers, which can deliver 2W (RMS) output per speaker. Its shell is made of piano-black (glossy) ABS, with a matte front finish, and a glossy ring around its dome. It takes input in two ways. It can act as a USB audio device and run entirely off a USB connection, or it can take a 3.5 mm line input while drawing power from USB.

The SP-U150X set takes input in two ways. It can act as a USB audio device and run entirely off a USB connection, or it can take a 3.5 mm line input while drawing power from USB. Either ways, it needs the USB cable plugged in. Apart from its 4W total maximum output, the speakers offer full frequency response range from 100 Hz to 22 KHz. Measuring about 10 cm high, Genius notes that its rounded-triangle shape is "eye-catching". The set weighs about 400 grams.

The Genius SP-U150X speakers are now available in North America for US $20.
