Google has opened Santa's Village, where it will display the Santa Tracker, which simulates the movements of the jolly present-giver across the world.

The search giant has developed a new route algorithm to chart the journey of old Saint Nic as he zooms from city to city to deliver toys to millions of children throughout the world. Google has been tracking his movements since 2004 with Google Earth, but this latest effort promises to be the best yet.

The journey starts at 2:00am PST on Christmas Eve and users can tune in live to see where Santa is at any given time. Users can even download a Chrome extension or download an Android app for easier tracking on the go.

While there are a few days yet to go before Santa starts his busy trip, Google is giving an inkling into life at the North Pole with Santa's Village, where you can see the elfs in their canteen or making presents and sweets, or even training reindeer how to fly.

Users can also play several games or construct a message from Santa to send to family and friends.
