If you’re not too busy to trying to become a real racecar driver through Gran Turismo’s racing academy, you might be interested to know that Kazunori Yamauchi has hinted that GT6 is in the making.

Yamauchi said at a Sony product-displaying event in China that he had been working on GT6’s framework since the GT5 release.

“We’re always aiming for the latest technology and the latest expression,” he added.

When asked about GT’s future on the Vita, he said that if they were to produce GT for the vita it would have to take full advantage of the handheld’s connectivity.

“If we were to make it, we’d like to make use of the ability to play anywhere and the ability to use 3G at any time,” he said.

This is great news for GT fans, but don’t get too hyped just yet.  The chance of GT6 being a PS3 title is slim to none. The GT franchise is one of Sony’s flagships, so why not launch it alongside the PS4?  Launching an established franchise alongside the PS4 makes perfect business-sense.

From a budget-conscious-fan’s point of view, however, it will be greatly appreciated if GT6 lands on the PS3.
