Hacker claims he will release a working untethered iOS 6 jailbreak on December 22
The iPhone 5 came out with iOS 6 and then the rest of the iFamily followed suit thereafter. Now that the iPhone community has the latest operating system it is only a matter of time before there's a 'permanent' jailbreak. So who's the first to claim that they have found a true untethered jailbreak for iOS 6? A hacker going by DreamJailbreak claims to have done so, and will release his work to the public soon.
We ran a story back in September about pod2g not being involved in the development of a jailbreak for iOS 6, and since then nothing too major has been going on surrounding the untethered iOS 6 jailbreaking scene–until now. An unnamed hacker using the twitter handle "DreamJailbreak" announced recently that he has a working untethered iOS 6 jailbreak, and will release it on the 22nd of December.
Dream has set up a twitter account to accommodate all of the emails he is getting, and plans to use social media to keep people informed until the actual release date of the supposed untethered jailbreak. As per the various 'popular' questions that people may have regarding the legitimacy his jailbreak, he has a FAQ section on his website that will answer those inquiries.
People who doubt that DreamJailbreak actually accomplished what many others haven't will see proof of his work of art "some time mid next week," according to the FAQ. All else aside, he claims that the jailbreaking process is safe, and that users will have the option of restoring the factory iOS 6 via iTunes in case anything goes wrong.
Proof will be posted both here and on my Twitter account on Wednesday. As far as the video that will be uploaded, it will be a single-take shot of the entire jailbreak process, including a restart and usage of the device to prove it is untethered. It will be uploaded as raw video straight from my camera to YouTube. So no edits in any form. Thank you all for your patience and support.
