Haier Smartphones @ CommunicAsia 2011 – Attack of the Clones!

After raiding the buffet reception at CommunicAsia 2011 (Marina Bay Sands), the highly caffeinated VR-Zone team came across a few intriging products on display at Haier's booth (Qingdao, Shandong, China based consumer electronics company). Clearly our fruit-themed western capitalist turtle necks won't be too happy with these lot.


The CDMA/EDVO/GSM Haier E600 has a 3.5inch HVGA screen and is running a rather antiquated Android 2.1 Eclair.

Not an expansive IPS panel, the touchscreen was also rather unresponsive

We wondered if the Death Grip was copied too

Notice the Home Button in the phone above is different from the demostration unit. Bait and Switch?
