Today, 14 September 2010 was an epic day because the last installment (or so they say) of the Halo game series was released to a huge crowd at Funan Digitalife Mall. I believe the number could easily hit 10,000 because the queue (line-up) was forever snaking outside of the building.
Here’s a story about determination and persistence…not so much about Bungie and Halo, yeah we report on that too, but of an individual and the hordes of gamers wanting to be the first or earliest to get their hands on Halo: Reach.
Halo is a long running first person shooter game created by Bungie back in November 2001. Nobody knew just how big a hit it would be on the XBox console. It turns out that almost 9 years later Bungie released 4 sequels in that time with the latest release included – Halo: Reach.
Here’s a recap of the Halo titles release.
- Halo – November 2001
- Halo 2 – November 2004
- Halo 3: ODST – September 2007
- Halo Wars – March 2009
- Halo: Reach – September 2010
The fans have been waiting and the following is strong. There are even diehard supports that go to the extreme of supporting their favourite game by creating and wearing costumes that make you believe that the character, Master Chief really does exist.
