HBO GO for PS3 released, coming to PS4 soon

The app was promised by HBO CEO in January and now its finally available for PlayStation 3.

Back in January HBO CEO Richard Plepler announced that HBO Go will be making its way to the PS3, and PS4 in the near future, allowing users to stream HBO content right to their console without an additional set-top box.

The best thing about this app is that it provides access to every episode of every season of HBO’s shows, even recent hits such as True Detective, Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire. PS3 owners hooked to Game of Thrones now have yet another method of watching the acclaimed show as they wait for April 6, when the season four premier is set to air. This way they have about a month to catch up on the previous three seasons if they want to relive the magic.

Vice President, Business Development at Sony Computer Entertainment Phil Rosenberg confirms that the company has been working “diligently” with HBO in order to get the HBO GO app for PlayStation 4 ready. Obviously they haven’t forgotten about their latest and greatest console, of which six million units have already found their way in retail channels, leaving Microsoft’s Xbox One far, far behind. Still, no release date has been provided for PS4 HBO GO app, so we’ll just have to wait and see when it finally drops.
